    Mini Wave Rock, Western Australia.

From the CASA rules which apply to everyone flying a drone in Australia. Onus of proof on the drone pilot if reported to CASA: Operations near people (CASR 101.245 (8)) You must not operate an RPA closer than 30 m (100 ft) to a person, unless that person is assisting you or has duties...

Agree. Not a good look. Best review the CASA rules. Max fine is $12,800. Really dangerous as drones can randomly fly away, hence the reason to maintain the 30m distance.

Found a Mavic 2 Pro around 4 weeks ago in Perth / Osborne Park Western Australia

It's people like this that ruin drone flying for responsible pilots!!!!

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

The only comment I make, is the colours it produces are quite flat compared to Lightroom and the skies tend to be a bit patchy, whereas Lr renders them really well. I edit it in Photoshop and can tart it up there better, but it's still not as nice a result as creating the pano in Lr and then...

2 Pro Fall Colors Sunset @ Arizona Snowbowl

Thanks Jim! Yes, was very happy with these. However, I think I've finally turned a corner with my extra wide panos, using PTgui instead of Lightroom. In rectilinear mode it is much better.

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

Hi Dobmatt, I did try PTGui before, but not on rectiliniar mode. I've just re-done them in this mode, and 'Voila!!!' It has worked and fixed my curving lines. I'm so delighted and grateful. Now, either have to use the eraser rubber in Ps to remove all the PTgui stickers in the trial...

2 Pro Fall Colors Sunset @ Arizona Snowbowl

Hi Jim, thanks very much for your reply mate. In answer to your questions: 1. I have it set to RAW + .jpg so yes, am loading all 3 rows of images into Lr to stitch the pano, plus allowing the drone's software to create around a 10MB .jpg pano. Both versions exhibit the same level of...

2 Pro Fall Colors Sunset @ Arizona Snowbowl

Beautiful pano Paul! I have a question. I take a lot of panos with my M2P and constantly have problems with bulging straight lines, eg a beach like in my example here, when taking a 21 shot extra wide pano. I shoot RAW, then process the pano in Lightroom with circular option. If you have any...

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

Oh crap!!! Not buying one of those! Wonder if the Mavic 2 Zoom at 48mm would do this? I also might give Ptgui Pro a try.

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

So this is what I had suggested, instead of allowing the drone to do an automatic pano, you are suggesting yawing the pano in a horizontal plane, overlapping the images and the stitching those results. I'm going to give this a try.

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

So this issue is with my Mavic 2 Pro drone which has a fixed wide angle lens.

Thankyou, really appreciate this article. Will read through it

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

Okay, what about this for an idea then to overcome panorama distortion? Set the drone to create a vertical 3 shot pano. Then fly sideways so there is a 30% overlap with the first pano, and create a second vertical pano. Keep repeating until you have the desired width. Then, take all the .dng's...

    M2P Panoramas curving straight lines?

I am struggling to get any answers on how to overcome this phenomenon I'm experiencing with my Mavic 2 Pro in Horizontal pano mode where any close to drone horizontal lines are being curved toward the drone, example attached. I'm trying to achieve a photo realistic panorama like I would get...
