I had a very quick reply regarding shooting with permission over archaeological sites with several forms to complete HOWEVER ...
If permission is granted there is a cost of 800 euros plus VAT per day to shoot PLUS 10 euros for every second of footage plus vat.
I'm not quite clear...

I contacted the Hellenic Aviation Authority to try and get permission to shoot around some archaeological sites.
I'm told I need to contact Ministry of culture but unlikely I'll get permission unless I'm shooting for Television.
I'm looking for an email for them as we speak, I'll give it...
I agree with you I could risk it but I want to enjoy the experience not feel I'm doing something illegal and underhand. If I don't get permission I simply won't bother.

That's re assuring to know.
As I said previously only reason I wish to take mine is to shoot some of the locations I spoke about and it seems these are off limits.
I expect I would have to apply to the Greek CAA to get permission or I'll be shooting...
