2 Pro Rural Oregon across the four seasons (and reference to other videos and stills)

My latest video of drone footage is at . I have about 100 more (most of the Hawaiian island of O'ahu) accessible at oahupictures.org or at my YouTube channel, PR Brandon See also www.oregon-photos.com for stills and aerial 360-degree photos of Oregon landscapes, barns, and trees, many from a...

    DJI Geozones-Airmap conflict

The instructions for unlocking a location that's in a DJI NFZ require uploading Airmap's (or similar entities') authorization to fly. However, if Airmap does not show that the location is in a airspace with any kind of restrictions, it doesn't (as far as I can tell) issue an authorization, so I...

Mavic Air 2 Footage Oregon Desert to Coast HD

Nice camera work. I agree, however, with the other comment about excessive length. —Another fellow Oregonian

    hanger 360 App

I tried a few weeks ago. it did not stitch together panoramas for me but worked fine as a tool for taking photos for me to stitch using PTGUI.

    Landscape photography

Yes, the top needs to be cropped. I'll try the photo in B&W--good idea. . . .

    Landscape photography

I, too, am into landscape photography. Here’s a shot I took nearby the other day. I’m also doing aerial shots of iconic-looking old barns. I find that photographing them at about the roofline is preferable to a shot from the ground with a DSLR.

Who uses a radio to monitor air traffic while flying their quadcopter and why?

Following up on Mavic Mac's post, under what circumstances would an air traffic controller want to be in touch with the PIC? Perhaps more to the point, how would they let the PIC know that he or she should initiate contact? Is it assumed that the PIC announces his or her flight via radio, in...

Who uses a radio to monitor air traffic while flying their quadcopter and why?

Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but if a manned aircraft is announcing arrival or departure from non-towered airport, to whom are they talking?

Who uses a radio to monitor air traffic while flying their quadcopter and why?

I am studying for the Part 107 exam and am puzzled by the instructions re monitoring nearby air traffic with a handheld radio while flying a drone. Given DJI's Geozones and LAANC's demarcation of allowable places to fly, I do not know of scenarios in which I would need to monitor air traffic...

Website of O'ahu shoreline aerial videos and 360-degree photos

Thanks for the generous words. LAANC approval is unnecessary from Honolulu Harbor to Kokohead and onwards around Makapu’u Pt to Kahuku Pt (except now around parts of the marine base) and down the north shore to Haleiwa. However, DJI no fly-zone software irritatingly limits flights from Haleiwa...

Website of O'ahu shoreline aerial videos and 360-degree photos

Forum members might be interested in a collection of O’ahu shoreline videos and 360-degree photos that I’ve put on the website, oahupictures.org. As a long-time (until recently) resident of the island, I’ve videoed the entire shoreline (first with a Phantom 4 and then with a Mavic Pro and...
