Why does any of these videos surprise you... a compass reacts to magnetic fields... of course it is going to "swing" if you bring it anywhere near a large body of metal or anything generating an electric field.

Yeah... don't think it has anything to do with compass as the drone doesn't get any heading info from the phone, the phone is simply an interface for the RC... It appears to me to be a "phone not charging" icon...

Another "hack" - I use DOT high reflective tape all over my drones... in the unlikely event they go down I can search for them at dusk at last known position with down facing camera and lumecubes... experimented with it and works a charm... Also makes my drones appear more industrial and I tend...
