    Charging Mini2

When using the drone to charge the battery, I use an Anker power adapter that supports USB-C PD. It's significantly faster than the standard DJI charger (supports charging up to 28W). Just about any USB-C PD adapter will do the same.

    Mini 2 charging speed

I don't know about the hub either (as I don't have one). But I'm guessing it will be the same as the drone. Lately the quick charging technologies (QC and PD) are playing better with each other. For once it's better than advertised!
  3. Q

    Mini 2 charging speed

Yes, I have a meter and have confirmed it multiple times. It's approximately 1.8A at 15V. Obviously you need a PD charger that will support 27W or more.
  4. Q

    Mini 2 charging speed

Using a USB-C PD charger the drone charges at 27W. That takes about 45-60m for a full charge. I don't have the external charger, but I would guess it does the same (one battery at a time).

Do quick shots depend on phone speed?

I assumed the same...that the image processing is done by the drone. But the CPU overload error seemed to correspond with failed circle quick shots. I'll do some further testing.

Do quick shots depend on phone speed?

I'm learning to use the quick shots for solo hiking/biking trips, and as most know, they are hit or miss. Yesterday I noticed an error message indicating that the phone's CPU was overloaded (or something similar) especially when doing circle shots. I use an older iphone 6 as a dedicated screen...

Extra battery? A powerbank? or Both?

I have a powerbank that's 20000mAh. It charges a battery in under and hour, and has sufficient capacity for about 3.5 charges. For the fast charging, it has to support usb-c pd. (charges at about 28W.
  8. Q

    Lightest DJI Mini 2 case?

I use an old Lowepro case. It fits the mini exactly and is rigid. protects the props without smashing them. 115g, just weighed it. I don't think they sell it anymore, but it's close to the CS 40 model. I have one of those on order to test.

USB-C PD on mini 2 works! (25W charge)

I didn't time it. I monitored it occasionally, and it stayed pegged at about 26W until was almost full, then it dropped down to about 7W. I'm pretty sure it was under an hour, but I didn't get the exact time.

New pilots: Let loose in Sport Mode!

I had a fair bit of practice flying rc heli's before getting into drones. While that skillset transfers nicely, I did quickly learn that flying a drone like a heli usually makes for really crappy video. Good video comes from really gentle movements. However I do enjoy putting the mini 2 in sport...

Mini 2 Lurches forward on takeoff- and Cine Smooth not so much

If nothing else fixes the problem, you may still want to consider changing the props. I had pristine-looking props, and was getting erratic take-offs. When I changed the props, though, the problem went away. The way I see it, the drone applies equal power to all four motors at launch. Under...

Mini 2 Lurches forward on takeoff- and Cine Smooth not so much

Lurching at takeoff is consistent with a damaged prop in my experience.

USB-C PD on mini 2 works! (25W charge)

Yes, they're similar, and with the latest versions I think they are somewhat interchangeable. It's hard to say if the drone is using full PD protocol or if it's QC 4.0 (which appears to be compatible with PD). Either way, I can fast-charge the drone from a power bank, which means that it's...

USB-C PD on mini 2 works! (25W charge)

I purchased a portable battery bank with the purpose of charging the mini 2 while backpacking. The battery only supports usb-c PD (and regular USB-A), while the mini 2 would appear to only support qualcomm QC 3.0. Since my battery pack doesn't support QC 3.0, I figured it would default to a slow...
