A question for those whose maths isn't as rusty as mine.

Any aircraft needs a pitot/static air data system to accurately read airspeed. Tilt and power can (theoretically) give commanded airspeed, but whether or not the aircraft achieves that airspeed will depend on several things.

    How low can it fly?

Just curious. Are quadcopters troubled by "settling with power" like conventional manned helicopters?

Air 1 Red Rock Canyon Scenic Loop

Love the video. I've driven a car and ridden horseback there. Now I must fly there! The music could have easily been Appalachian America 160 years ago. I like that, too.

The Part 107 Exam isn't as hard as you may think. You need a 70% to Pass it.

Old school saying: "If the minimum wasn't good enough, it wouldn't be the minimum." I think whoever said that wasn't a (manned aircraft) pilot who lived very long.

Frustrated and Quit before I even started

Come on, guys. This is good. I didn’t know until this thread that Future Farmers of America (FFA) was even involved with drone regulation. How about 4H?

The problem is, our local stores are out of tinfoil during this crisis, and I can't make my hat.

Why cannot a live estimate of wind speed and direction be displayed?

I seems that the drones have good groundspeed data, but no airspeed input. They don’t have a pitot tube. So any wind data is an estimate.

    Battling aggressive seagulls

I've had some success turning the drone--Mavic Air-- into them, or just stopping it suddenly into a hover. They can't duplicate the maneuvers, and (so far) they have veered away. The resultant video looks pretty strange, though.

    New pilot, fake news

Actually, I used POVRay, a freeware ray tracing program.
