Mini 4 Pro Jaw-Dropping views of Canadian Rocky Mountains | 4k HDR | True Winter Paradise! 🌄✨

The Nav Canada app is very incomplete. Be very aware of where you're flying. It doesn't show all Parks Canada locations, nor does it show provincial parks or even city parks where similar restrictions may be in place. Very much a first world problem, but it is the thing that has been most...

Mini 3 New pilot: Middle Cove, Newfoundland, Canada

Not looking for a critique, I know what the problems are with this one in terms of capture (composition and exposure), editing, and suitability of music... just sharing as is for anyone who's interested in seeing it. It was a very unseasonably warm weekend last weekend, and there's virtually no...

    Replacing the battery

Somehow reminds me of this camera sensor cleaning video... btw - always took my watches to the local watch repair place for battery replacements, until one day, they were so busy, I ended up being there for an hour in the line up. After that, bought a kit off Amazon, and it has everything...

Controller Question - anyone using a configuration other than Mode 2?

I've never flown RC planes before - I did have an RC car, but it was a really long time ago, so it doesn't count for anything really, and in any event it was a forward/back, left/right controller. I have a Playstation 3, so that tells you how much I play video games. I think over Christmas, I...

Controller Question - anyone using a configuration other than Mode 2?

I'm a new pilot, with a Mini 3 and RC controller. I'm struggling to get used to Mode 2 controller configuration. I've changed to Mode 1, and it feels much more intuitive to me to have forward, back, left, right on the left control stick. Maybe because I'm left handed, or maybe not. In any...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

NAV Canada seems to do a decent job of showing aviation rules and boundaries, and the area in question is close to a flight path, with an altitude limit. That's all cool. It's only the park rules that really are problematic here, and I agree that the boundaries "should" be clear... but they're...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

They're not parks. This is what Google Maps shows for Cape Spear. ...and according to Parks Canada report, this shows their area of jurisdiction (that's my quick photoshop job overlaying the area from the Cape Spear Management report... Clearly, I'm not great with Google because I couldn't...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

Its certainly rugged. Wish we had what they have on the West Coast (Gros Morne), but hey, this is where the work is!

    Canada - Parks Canada land

Maybe "management" was the key. I would never have thought of that. I really appreciate your time on this. Thanks!

    Canada - Parks Canada land

Yeah, fair enough. I was looking for an easier way. It's an hour round trip. I'd be going either for around sunrise, or around sunset, so the information centre isn't going to be open. In fact, it wouldn't be open again until next summer anyway. I think I'll go by the report for this area. At...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

You're misunderstanding the problem. I don't really know how to describe it in a better way because I have never been to a Parks Canada site that isn't here, so I don't know what they're like in other provinces. The problem is that I don't know where the boundaries of these National Historic...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

I'm not referring to National Parks. The places I'm talking about are called "Parks Canada places".

    Canada - Parks Canada land

What about those sites that don't have a map? Take Cape Spear for example (Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site). No map. The trails are serviced by the East Coast Trail Association, so not by Parks Canada. So you can't tell where the boundary of the Parks Canada area is. Here it is...

    Canada - Parks Canada land

Sadly not. Not even the boundaries of our two National Parks are indicated, and other than these, Parks Canada areas, at least here, are much smaller. They are not indicated on the NAV Canada app either.
