To Skin or Not to Skin.

And that design looks brilliant! My biggest concern is removing it should I get the urge to swap it out or bring the drone back to original. I found some neat automotive wraps in the usual gloss and semi gloss carbon fiber and chameleon to practice with and I took your advice and ordered some...

To Skin or Not to Skin.

Hi all, My son picked up a Cricut Explore Air 2 and we want to start doing our own skins. Anyone have any recommendations/suggestions for printable vinyl or factory made stuff (like carbon fiber etc.)? I jumped the gun a bit and bought templates for the Air 2 and Mini 3 Pro. 3M seems to be very...

Looking for control sticks that can be picked up by a magnet

One could always look on Aliexpress and pick up a 1/2 dozen sticks for next to nothing. They run about 2.25 cad shipped per pair for almost exact copies of the 18.00 originals. I bought some for just in case moments and no longer worry about being stuck without. Takes up less space than anything...

DRONE PILOT FINED $3,021 FOR DRONE INCURSION AT YOW

Just curious....I thought the Air 2s wouldn't even lift off in an airport zone. No excuse for that bonehead. Before I bought my first drone, I had already read the rules and passed the exam. Surely an example of more money than brains. This town is full of I-Me-My people where self gratification...

    New Drone Pilot from Alberta.

Welcome from shhhh (Ottawa). My folks are in Edmonton as well. They've been cursing the smoke for some time now. I hope it finally lets up for you guys. My son bought the Mini 3 and when I saw I immediately grew envious. Like you, I studied and got the basic ticket before I got my drone. I found...

    Setting random flight boundaries

I've been patiently waiting for their Android version to incorporate geo fencing too! Maybe it's time to get over my aversion to IOS

I Have Stopped using Master Airscrew Props On My Air 2S

I apologize as I'm not yet a user of the Master Air Screw props. Just thinking about it, at the prices that are being charged, why not include a screw that incorporates a threadless top third? A partially threaded screw can be had for a few pennies. Even though they would tighten over time...

To Skin or Not to Skin.

I'm finding my eye sight not as good as I imagined it and almost lost my Air 2 on it's maiden flight a short while ago. Thank God for Mavic Pilots and the information here. Anyways, I searched available skins here in N. America and nothing grabbed me as much as the old NY City Checker Cab design...

New Legs for my new Air 2

Howard, thanks for the hand landing tips. I can see the ski type legs would be easier to grasp. What kind of skin do you have there? It sure looks great and I bet the visibility is fantastic. I ordered some that are coming soon but opted for yellows.

New Legs for my new Air 2

It does kinda look like a crab! Now that that's imprinted on my brain...I should have bought the all grey legs :) In regard to being tippy, on a flat surface it's pretty stable and when the legs are unfolded they click into place really well. Being plastic, they'll probably wear out after...

New Legs for my new Air 2

Hi everyone, As a new pilot I did a whack of reading before getting my drone. The thing that got to me a lot was the price of a replacement gimbal and camera and how fragile they are. I took it to heart and immediatly ordered some of these legs and then a landing pad. I've seen these advertised...

An old guy learning to fly..

Thank you LoudThunder for the *very* informative post. I just had a peek at the member map as I hadn't even realized it was there. Really cool! Its a far cry from my old php forum way back when. In regard to the Canuck rules, I wrote my basic exam before I even had the drone :) Apart from the...

An old guy learning to fly..

I believe the width of a Canuck football field is 65 yards. I'm guessing time of day and environment make all the difference. Personally I have a hard time discerning whether the drone is coming or going and rely on Fly to see it's positioning at that distance. Yes! I need new glasses :) In...

An old guy learning to fly..

Hi everyone, Just popped in to say hello. My son recieved a Mini 3 Pro from his other half for his birthday so I Just *had* to be able to go flying with him (thats what I told my wife). I picked up a new Mavic Air 2 Fly more combo for a very good deal here in Ottawa. This past Saturday was my...
