I really don’t know why this is such a contentious issue. People who routinely speed in their cars - and yes everyone here does or has done - suddenly get worked up about VLOS. I don’t get it. It’a up to the pilot to decide what they want to do. Break the law, and there may be consequences...
I will not doubt regret writing this but… I don’t believe for a second that people who claim to only fly VLOS do so. That is 150-300m. Before you reply remember that there is a world beyond the continental United States. I have flown for many, many years, BVLOS in a dozen countries, sometime far...
Compared to tracking GPS? Pfft. The calculations are trivial, it's a simple look up and addition. This is completely doable, and might even make it in one day, but the issue is one of "why?"
I experienced this with three batteries bought at the same time. I sent them all back to DJI who exchanged them without issue. I believe it's a known fault and they can probably repair them at the factory, but they send you new ones.
I kept meaning to come back and reply. I ended up having a third battery fail in exactly the same manner. I wrote to DJI and after a LONG process they agreed to take them back to check them. This took about 2w, but once the started the checking process they were confirmed as faulty in a few...
Both batteries are showing a production date of April 2020, and they were bought together with a Fly More package on April 28, 2020. The batteries have been charged 8 and 9 times. They both show equal voltage across the cells of ~4.16v each.
Hi - this week two of my batteries for my Mavic Air 2 started acting weird. First, when inserted into the drone, it immediately powered on without having to turn the battery on. Turning it off and on had no effect. When attempting to fly it (keeping it at the lowest possible altitude, to test...
I currently have an alternative charging hub for my Mavic Air 1 that charges 4 batteries simultaneously. It’s very small and is great for travel.
Am I correct to assume the Mavic Air 2 batteries are not compatible with the Mavic Air 1 chargers?
If so, are they compatible with any existing hubs?
My son and I have had an Air since it was released and have flown it all over Europe and a good part of Asia, and I've massively enjoyed it. When we saw the release today, I'll admit we didn't hold back. Only problem is lock-down! ?
This is not correct. You must register as a pilot flying the Mavic Mini because it has a camera. This is a recent change to the July 2020 legislation. Also with article 22 you can fly the Mavic Air in the same conditions (i.e. over people) until June 2022.

Dit is niet correct. U moet zich...
I’m replying to your statement that those countries use the same EU laws (as the UK). The new laws, in effect from July 2020, allow 250g drones to be flown over people. Until Brexit actually occurs, this will be the case.
