Mine works fine. Maybe you're seeing a malfunction in the nut at the top of the control sticks. Or possibly something wrong with "attitude control". Hard to say ... but sounds like it's probably something "external" to the system.
The inconsistency is what makes me crazy. Sometimes it works the first time, sometimes it works the tenth time, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Other times it works on Wi-Fi but not wired. It's just crappy quality control in their upgrade processes that seems to cause this. I wish they would...
UPDATE ... I GOT IT TO WORK
The DJI Assistant 2 update NEVER worked.
But at the end of the WiFi failed updates, I kept getting this odd "Note" about the SD card I use for storage. I'd just click "OK" and the device would reboot into the old version. I figured with nothing to lose, I'd just...
Tried over WiFi and it appears to finish but fails to load - reboots to the old version.
Tried with DJI Assistant-2 and it fails with stall and SC beeping shutdown at 16%.
Why is every DJI update a "struggle"?
(It's a rhetorical question - I know the answer is "Because they hate me".)
I landed my Mavic 2 Zoom on a piece of plywood sitting on two saw-horses. I had a whole 4x8 feet of space to land, but I (lazily) didn't want to have to lean over to reach it, so I landed on the edge and "missed" with half the landing gear, and watched in horror as it dropped to the ground...
Heck ... I'd be satisfied if I could just transfer all my images from Drone SD to Controller SD ... "after" the flight, and without physically moving the SD card. But I can't even see a way to do that. I'm sure I'm missing something.
Please don't beat me up for this stupid question ... but ... (brace yourself) ...
Is there any way to save images shot in flight, directly to my Smart Controller in real time? I'm getting tired of having to land and pull the SD Card to view my photos on the screen. I've tried several...
Yes it's 2000 nits.
Yes it supports Waypoints 2.0.
Yes it was an awesomely bright screen.
Yes ... I sold it and bought the new integrated controller (and I love it).
While bright enough to work on the surface of the sun ... I wanted the integrated controller more, and sold my CS to fund it.
I just sold my CS-Ultra because it just wasn't necessary. The Smart Controller works fine for me in very bright sunlight. Fly with the new controller, and you might realize that no hood is necessary.
LOVE it ... love it so much that I sold my Crystal Sky monitor. It is exactly what I was hoping DJI would bring to market. There are always things to improve, but this is 95% of the way there, and that's good enough for me.
I am "admittedly" not a professional photographer, but I can tell you that I use the Zoom feature on literally "every" flight, and the camera has yet to disappoint me as long as I make good filter and exposure decisions.
When you swap out for the "Pro" ... I hope you don't find yourself wishing...
