    Flying close to water???

So actually what you are saying: there is also no harm in doing so, isn't there?

    Flying close to water???

Also I would advise you to shut of the Visual Positioning Sensors. (VPS) They can get confused by the surface of the water and give false information to the brain of the drone about the altitude. Especially when flying over water in a wind still situation, when the water is like a...

    Flying close to water???

A safe altitude is when you can see the reflections of the water don't shimmer on the drones surface. A minimum of 10 meters or 30 feet is my safe lowest flight level, but on a very sunny day with more reflection on the waters surface I will fly a lot higher. Search YT for videos of hero...

When to turn off collision avoidance?

Also when flying directly into the sun, the glare will confuse the collision sensors and cause the drone to stop forward movement. Ruud

    Flying close to water???

I can only give you one well ment advise: DON'T! There have been hundreds of pilots who have lost their drones flying over water at low altitudes. As said before the sensors get confused and this effects the ability to maintain a steady flight level, causing the drone to crash. Always maintain...

First day with Mini 4 Pro. Returning it tomorrow.

Yes, baddog....absolutely correct....and also there exists something like collateral damage. Or in this case a side effect of putting the ND filter on...comparable to putting sunglasses on. A little bit less bright light will pass through the lens, thus causing a slight reduction of flare. Every...

    White ceiling detection

My Mavic Pro will fly in Atti mode indoors when connecting to GPS is impossible. This happens automatically when GPS is lost during a flight under a solid obstacle such as a bridge.

    White ceiling detection

Any sensor has problems "seeing" obstacles when there is no difference in contrast. Ceilings of any colour but a flat monochrome surface is not detected fast enough. Also camera auto-focus will search for focus when there is no area with a different contrast. Ruud

First day with Mini 4 Pro. Returning it tomorrow.

Does using a ND filter make any difference? I do not know if there is any possibility to fit a ND filter to the camera of the Mini 4. I fly the Mavic Pro with filter attached, there is a big difference in picture quality. Ruud

Help: Ideas to view dim phone screen on a sunny day?

Sure you should wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun. I am talking about a hood to cover the screen of the controller and your phone screen from direct sunlight. You can reach the controls through openings and even when you need to turn around the sun doesn't reach the screen. Google for...

Help: Ideas to view dim phone screen on a sunny day?

Did you ever take a look at sunschades for your screen. Mine is from Freewell. It is very effective preventing strong sunlight messing up your view on the screen.

    Video editing software

Check out HitFilm Express. It is free, so that price can't be topped. Plenty of tutorials on YT to watch. But very easy to get started. I think it is the best choice for a beginner to tip the toe into the cold water before committing to a expensive more elaborate software program. Good Luck! Ruud
