I'm kinda wondering if this is a DJI snub on USA, like how they never released the Fly Report/year-in-review for anyone in North America. Out of curiosity, did anyone in the USA get this email?

First time I saw this portion of the leak it was a video, captured with a camera up against the goggles (lots of distortion) and it was in Italian, so it all adds up a legitimate (at least in this beta release of the software). Unlikely someone would gin up two fakes in two different languages...

It'd be nice if there was some FPV capability, but so far if the leaks are correct it doesn't appear much that it'll be much more than a cine/hover drone in a Whoop style body.

There's strong evidence that at least one of the two mystery product designations from that video is directly related to the DJI Neo. The FCC filing for the DJI Neo lists WA521 prominently in the Antenna Spec PDF: Test Report

They way I read it is the entire "drone categories" discussion relates only to Part 107 cert holders. The FAA ammended 107, they didn't ammend USC 44809.

Here's my understanding, with a link below that backs it up. Category 1 drones don't need to be approved/certified by the FAA. Only Category 2 and 3 drones require FAA certification, and Category 4 is a custom branch that will require an individual Airworthiness certificate. For Category 1...

Personally I see this as an Operations Over People drone, cinematic style not FPV. Lightweight, full prop cages. Possibly ideal for indoor use, too light to cause damage to persons or property. The specs on the battery indicates they've sacrificed flight time to keep weight at a bare minimum...

Yeah, I've never seen a screen like that either, I had assumed it was some kind of FTP app interface but it doesn't sound like that from his description. I've sent him the link to this thread, he's at work but I'm hoping he'll be able to chime in himself.

DJI tech support also had the Smart Controller itself in their own possession for a time, claimed they couldn't find flight logs, and then sent the controller back. Don't know if it adds to the discussion, my friend just sent me this screen shot, when following DJI's instructions for retrieving...

A valid argument, but there's equally valid proof that there IS a technology error. As I mentioned above he uses the drone frequently and the drone/controller spontaneously stopped record flight logs last year, no message, no warning. As far as "sure it never existed", I can't say. I'd assume...

All, Trying to help a friend who had a recent fly away with his Air 2S. I'm still waiting for details to confirm but he says the has the DJI Smart Controller. After the drone loss DJI gave him instructions for finding the flight log in question and he couldn't find anything recent, all logs...

Interesting that the Firmware release notes list a firmware version for the RC Pro, but can't find any mention that the Air 2 now works with the RC Pro controller. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. Should be delivered to DJI in Texas on Wednesday. Don't have super high hopes personally. It is somewhere around 14 months since purchase.

I did clean all the pins, on both the aircraft and the battery. Nothing bent, no physical damage at all. All other batteries work fine.
