I always try to fly VLOS, but in reality it does not work. Even if I have the drone 200 feet form me, the background and the sunlight makes it invisible, although I can guess where it is but I cannot see it. Am I breaking the VLOS rules ?

I made two videos, just minutes apart from each other. The first video plays fine on my computer. It will play using VLC, Omniplayer and Quicktime (this is a iMac) The second video will not play on any, and software identifying video type shows nothing. However, both videos play on the cellphone...

Same here. Mobile device is a Huawei P20. Drone is a Mini. Selected imperial, shows imperial while flying, and filming. Looking at the video shows metric.

I dont see what difference that would make. A tablet mount still would mount in front of the RC, except that it will require a larger mount and a larger sun shade.

My RC places the phone on the front of the RC, making impossible to mount a sun shade (except one type). Can I replace the RC with a different model which will hold the cellphone in the back, as most RC do ? (without spending a ton of money...)

OK. I read around here that the mobile can drawn the battery of the RC. I am using a Huawei P20. But it is always well charged. However, I will pay attention to the RC charge. Thanks

Is there a RC for mini where the battery is replaceable ? The aircraft came with 3 batteries, so I can easily bring it down, replace the battery and go fly again. But I cannot do that if the RC runs out of charge. I have to go home and slowly charge it.

I had formatted the SD on the iMac. I will reformat it on the drone. You may be right. It MAY be a formatting problem, although the format is FAT32.

I cannot find the place to select format (MP4/ AVC) let along CODEC !

Mavic Mini. My iMac is quite tolerant of many formats, but this particular one was shown as AVC1. No player would touch it. VLC, Cisdem, Quick Time. And Final Cut Pro would not import it. Not even Wondershare UniConverter, which is supposed to do that job would accept it. I thought I had read...
