    Battery care

At about 60 charges each, all 4 of my batteries swelled up on day. I had them set to discharge every 5 days and most of the time used them before the 5 days. I thought having them discharge sooner was better. my current theory is back to 10 days and keep them in the open air. I think...

A nightmare in the Catskill mountains..NY

I too have had far more positive encounters than negative. I simply do not want people approaching me while I am flying... If they approach, I politely say.. sorry I cannot talk now, when I land in about xxx minutes I could." few view that as a friendly satisfactory answer.... they only...

A nightmare in the Catskill mountains..NY

That is a great idea, I am going to do that. One in English and one in Spanish.. I do not like to talk with anyone when flying and try to fly from a secluded spot or as hidden as possible. It is hard to tell even friendly people, that "I cant talk right now. When I land in about XX...

    Stupid but humorous

looks like the drone pilot was engaged in harrassment. had a bottle hit the drone, the laughter would have been reversed. And had that happened I would feel as bad for that pilot as I would for someone who teases a dog till it bites him or shoots an elephant that falls on him.

Lost Mavic 2 Pro, battery depleted 1% very 2 seconds on return to home point

I have had a battery show full charge and after a couple minutes in the air I receive a message that it is self discharging... at this point I brought it back home landed and restarted the battery. I did notice that in the few minutes of flying the battery dained 10%. I think it was an...

How the heck people get 5km+ range?

Really???? With a 7 km advertised range??? obviously, Thunderdrones, you know much more about drones than I do. And I have learned alot from your postings over the last year or so, but this seems off. I routinely fly 3-4 kilometers from home without issue. (always with VLOS of course...

My Mavic2 IS DOWN IN THE RIVER

I am thankful to those pilots who upload their crash flight logs.... I always learn from the experts who analize the data. Although 95% of the time, there was a pilot error, oversight or avoidable situation, i have never seen a pilot critized. They are learning experiences that can...

Can I fly with no Maps?

not sure why you have an argumentive attitude. Please dont let my joy of using maps effect your joy of not.

Can I fly with no Maps?

how about getting TO the shots you want??? finding something interesting on google earth and then driving to within a couple miles of the thing to see... get out the mavic, and using the map to help navigate to the destination.... will assist you in getting the shot..... and...

Can I fly with no Maps?

Maps are "not that important" for flying but are INCREDIBLE for enjoying a whole other side of the flying / hobby experience. I flew for months ONLY with maps as my camera was broken and I was waiting for parts.

    Perhaps you’ve been here too?..

funny, after posting this I went on line and google searched N6157B and there she was... There were 4 of us who owned it together and flew her out of Globe, Arizona. Unfortunately one of us, not Emde or myself, but one unnamed, overlooked the golden rule of "land with fuel". Returning from...

    Turn off engines or not?

my 2 cents.... dont turn off the motors...... with the motors off you have lost for sure.... with them on you have some chance of moving away or even recovering during a fall.

    Perhaps you’ve been here too?..

Had a Cessna 182 for a number of years, many years ago...that hobby was fun and expensive.... cant afford that anymore... flying my Mavic is the closest thing I got and the views and excitement of flying the drone beats the s---- out of any simulator game. With the drone, the flying is...
