In the Mavic Pro Manual I Believe it says in the performance data that the Pro has a max altitude of 16000 ft. this is above mean sea level not above ground level. I think that's pretty impressive, but it won't get you to the top of Mount Everest.

Since you are getting a used drone it is already activated you should be able to go straight to flying Litchi. Some of the drone's settings are not accessible from the Litchi App. As has been mentioned already. I think all of the critical ones are.
