    Hi

Thanks again for all the welcomes. I thought I would post a little update. As I mentioned, I submitted my 107 application to IACRA and it was displaying a status of "Signed by applicant." It has been "Signed by applicant for a bit over 3 weeks now. No changes in that time, no emails from TSA...

Woot! Off - - anyone see these deals on Woot!

I have no idea what's actually going to happen. It's also a bit irrelevant. We don't know why Woot is/was selling drones at a discount. It's all speculation. Yesterday I ordered one of the Mavic 3 Pros from them. I live close to their distribution center, so it was delivered today. As far as I...

Woot! Off - - anyone see these deals on Woot!

Yep. Beyond pull tag, the drone is festooned with all the usual bits of anti-chaffing tape, foam collar for the gimbal, everything is in the same type of sealed bags my other DJI products have used, it has the normal bits such as extra control sticks, etc. I'm waiting for everything to charge...

Woot! Off - - anyone see these deals on Woot!

Well, I can't speak for OP, but the DJI drone I ordered from Woot/this sale arrived today and it was in a sealed box complete with the little pull tags DJI uses to make sure someone doesn't just re-shrinkwrap a box.

Woot! Off - - anyone see these deals on Woot!

I suspect this is connected to the Mavic 4 coming out. I was a Woot customer before Amazon acquired them. Less so now but every so often they'll have something I want. The sales approach of Woot is to get odd lots of products, throw together a quick description, price it at a good but not...

MSDK for Mini 4 Pro released!

That raises a question for me, because the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro are also listed as supported. Looks like they were added in v5.30 dated 2023.04.07. I don't know if what the limitation of the Mini 3 [pro] API are so I'm going entirely on the implication of your post that it doesn't work. So...

    SCAM ALERT. Username: rickfmdj

I'm saying this at the risk of rubbing salt in a wound, but.... The seller's post history was a bunch of activity up until 2023, and then nothing until some for sale listings just recently. That sort of pattern often means the user who actually registered stopped using their account, and...

Mini 4 Pro Plus battery and RID ?

You make good points. I will say that DJI has some experience with the sort of thing they would need to do to implement this, in that they have a fairly pushy integrated experience for selling their drone insurance to new drone owners. I'm sure they could figure out how to make it work if they...

    Taking Drones over seas.

I suspect (because I'm not the one who said it) that it means that unless you do something dumb like fly into restricted airspace or try to fly from a national park, nobody is going to bother someone flying a drone, to try and make sure it's being done in compliance with FAA rules. I don't know...

Mini 4 Pro Plus battery and RID ?

Yeah I get that DJI views this as a way to push 107 pilots to more expensive drones. That's why I said they would be better off just saying "It's <250g and we don't support heavier weights or RID on the Mini 4, if you want to operate outside our supported modes that's on you." That said, I've...

Mini 4 Pro Plus battery and RID ?

A real irony of this is that the official "solution" for compliance when you have a mix of batteries involves the fiction that a single physical drone is two drones, each registered separately. One with RID enabled in the drone, and the other using a module for RID. For each flight you are...

Mini 4 Pro Plus battery and RID ?

I have no idea and I'm not saying you are right or wrong, but that doesn't make a lot of sense. DJI doesn't display the RID number in the interface unless RID is turned on, so if that was true you'd need to fly it in an out-of-compliance configuration to be able to get the info you need to...

Again, thanks for all the welcomes!

    Hi

Thanks for the congrats! I've been dealing with various federal agencies more than usual recently and they have two common features: Abysmal, over-complicated, and fragile web interfaces that barely work, and a sense that the employees trying to keep everything going are not having a great...

    Hi

Thanks for the welcomes! I've been to Bakersfield, and Birmingham. My trips to Canada have all been to the western half - Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Kitimat, and points between - I've spent weeks driving around western Canada but I'd love to visit more of the country. As for the UK, that's...
