I rarely purchase from Amazon so don't have much experience with their sales patterns. I was asked if I thought that they'd be offering Prime Day (in about a week) discounts on the Mini 4 Pro. I thought it was unlikely that Amazon (or DJI for that matter) would be discounting the Mini 4 Pro or...
Keep in mind that if the RC2 has the same inability to run 3rd party apps as the RC1, only the RC-N2 would give that 3rd party app ability if and when DJI MSDK support for a device becomes available.
AFAIK it's virtual stick, and I wouldn't anticipate any autonomous onboard waypoint support (beyond what they have for hyperlapse now) for the Mini 3/Pro. In fact, has DJI ever provided on-board waypoint support for a drone that doesn't have side obstacle sensors?
I'm not going to say "never" in relation to the RC remote, but it at least seems unlikely that significant third party drone-related flying (other than DJI's own Fly) apps will ever run there in a practical way, because it's significantly resource constrained.
DJI has written explicitly that they do not intend to move forward with iOS MSDK support for these two (and apparently various other) devices. That appears to be their stance for now, anyway - Android only.
Yes, those are the parameters that DJI has documented. And it's in that section that DJI should add warnings about the issue I've discussed above (as well as fixing that erroneous error message in the app).
I have solved this problem myself. The issue appears to be max distance/max altitude settings. If they are too low, Active Track will not engage, and the "Can't use focus track due to geo zone" error will appear, even if you are NOT in a geo zone. In my case, initial testing was done with both...
Wanted to show a new mini 3 pro owner how to use focus track -- just flying around their backyard. No problems taking off, but all attempts to draw a focus track box yield a "can't enable focus track in Geo 2 zone" error. Thing is, there are no zone restrictions on any maps I can find for their...
An updated DJI post now says that MSDK support for the Mini 3 Pro will not come in 2022. In my previous post on this thread I expressed skepticism about their "end of August" timeline that they listed in an earlier post. We should have been asking "end of August in WHAT YEAR?"
Ha! I knew it! I knew that "end of August" (this year) stuff in their earlier message couldn't be right, given their history with the Mini 2 where it took over a year to get MSDK support. That's why I've been so skeptical about this all along. We should have asked "August of WHAT YEAR?" Ha. Thanks.
Worth noting that DJI claims the MSDK support for the Mini 3 Pro will be available by the end of this month. Given that it took a year after the release of the Mini 2 for MSDK support for that device to appear, I find this rapid release for the Mini 3 Pro to be remarkable -- if it happens --...
