I concur with Dedal.... vis a vis situation/conditions, however piloting is fun, and as BrockRock suggest if situations allow, an aeroplane approach is more of a test of skill, otherwise you might as well just press RTH and have it done for you, as I have seen others suggest in different posts...

Hi Photogad I think that if you know what you are doing, and are a reasonably proficient pilot, then hand catching and release is not so dangerous, for some people especially on boats etc hand catching/release is one of the few options they have. That said take care.... Waylander

Hi Calltrex There are aftermarket pontoons that you can attach to the drone to stop it sinking if it lands in water, but you need to get to it quick in case it flips over etc.... Good Luck with this Waylander
