I’m still studying , so stand to be corrected, but no . AFAIK if < 250g you only need operator ID and Flyer if a camera is fitted. That is a rule change for 2021.
There are now new UK CAA drone regulations for 2021, which are complex and permit us to continue in the ‘Open’ category .

I had a terror incident trying to hand catch my M2Pro , last year , from underneath . Grab and flip it over ; done before several times , but that day , the drone went bonkers with maximum thrust and was a terrifying wrestle . No injury , but I won’t do it again .
My amateur opinion is that flying a quadcopter, with four non waterproof electric motors , in ANY rain, freezing or not , is asking for a bad situation .
