Ok finally got it, seen somewhere else to try running a VPN and connecting the remote to assistant, it worked, got it updated and it instantly paired up. Dont know why you have to use a vpn, but it worked.

When I plug either the mini or the controller into DJI assistant 2(consumer drone), it just says "network error " when it tries to read the software version?

I have a Air2 that I use with a SC, so I bought a mini2 only to use with the air controller, but can't seem to get it to pair, have tried lots of time just how they show on YouTube, no luck, any ideas? Thanks

Yes, and i wont buy it till i know for sure it will work with the SC, i wish they would sell the MA2 cheaper without the controller!

I have the Mavic Zoom bought with the smart controller, It works great but I noticed it didnt have the waypoints, I have tried to update with wifi and with the Assistant 2 for mavic , both say "Network Error" . Any Ideas? Thanks
