Air 2 controller for mini 2

I have a Air2 that I use with a SC, so I bought a mini2 only to use with the air controller, but can't seem to get it to pair, have tried lots of time just how they show on YouTube, no luck, any ideas?

Make sure you have the AC and RC updated to the latest versions.
Then this process should work, tell us what part of the process fails for you ?

When I plug either the mini or the controller into DJI assistant 2(consumer drone), it just says "network error " when it tries to read the software version?

The video above shows how to bind the controller to the aircraft, Asst. 2 isn't needed. Try the above video and expound what fails using that method.

Ok finally got it, seen somewhere else to try running a VPN and connecting the remote to assistant, it worked, got it updated and it instantly paired up. Dont know why you have to use a vpn, but it worked.

So the linking worked after you updated the firmware on the AC and RC using DJI Assistant 2 through a vpn ?

You should press and hold the power button of the drone when the process is started ( beeping means teh RC waits for the drone response)...then it will pair....
