Hi, I'm looking to fly on Beltsville as a recreational pilot but I see there is an airport there. I'm confused because in the Beltsville State Park website they mention an air field, but I can't find it in google maps. This is my first time flying in the US, could you provide me some insights...

flying three miles high, catastrophic collision. ( NO COLLISION OCCURRED )dc

Wanna play a little devil's advocate here. Are you sure you can identify an insect or you just assume (or your brain makes the match) of it as an insect because it is the most probable/desirable object of those characteristics in that scenario? I mean if I were to throw a paint ball or any...

    Checklist after minor crash

Hi and welcome. Since propellers is basically what keeps it flying, I'd replace them even if the damage looks just 'cosmetic'. After that I'd do a check flight under controlled conditions (low alttitude, over grass) and verify proper funcioning (response to controlls, GPS, compass, etc)...

    Maybe a better landing pad.

This is so obvious, that I never figured out! Easily the tip of the day for me.... On a second thought, sometimes my car carpets are dirtier than the outside soil

Struggling straight out of the box!

I've found the "official" tutorial videos from DJI too shortcoming, and very sunny day oriented. You can learn how to fly when everything is going right, but they very lack when conditions are less than ideal I've learn very much reading the manuals, these forums and a lot of videos...

Struggling straight out of the box!

As suggested above, read the whole manual first, tutorials won't do much good if you don't have the basics Flying indoors is a bad idea, as GPS won't work and you are very close to anything, crashing is very easily For baby steps, find a large, open area, with short grass if possible, and...

Can I Take My Drone To Mexico?

Hi Drones ARE legal in Mexico, however they need to be registered to fly if above certain weight, the information is in "legaleze-spanish" so I may be missinterpreting it, but someplace it refers that you cannot fly a drone registered in other country (I guess that's where the "undocumented"...

Frustrated? Paranoid? I'm questioning everything me taking up this hobby

Aren't you trying to tackle too much at the same time? From personal experience, a step-by-step approach is best, in my way it started to learn to fly confidently, including the nervous of tle flight itself and then the regulations and non-written rules about it My second step (not perfect on...

    Drone went rogue and crashed

Certainly not. I haven't read the data, but the logic goes as follow: IF no GPS data AND no Visual Position Data = no way to know for your drone where it is, so it cannot keep the position fixed. Under that circunstance, any wind will push the drone, as will push a floating balloon ar pretty...

What is "Enhanced Warning Zone" anyway?

Thanks Malcx, but that paragraph defines what you are expected to do, but not what the zone is, at least not in a clear way. As I mention, there is a 100km diameted EWZ far from any international airport, and there is nothing marked in red either, so I can't figure out what to "watch out" so to...

What is "Enhanced Warning Zone" anyway?

Hello I'm sorry if the question seems obvious, but I can't find what IS an Enhanced Warning Zone. I had read many examples regarding the pop-ups in the GO4 App where you accept the responsibility to fly there, but not knowing what it is or what should I be looking for, scares me regarding...
