100 Watt Charger Best for 3S?

YES.

An A3 battery can pull up to 100W charging, and this is the rate necessary to charge a fully depleted battery to 100% in about an hour.

Any smaller capacity source will take proportionally longer: 65W will take about 100/65 = ~1.5 hours.

I use 65 for casual charging and the 100 if I'm in a rush.

And that's smart if you want to squeeze every last usable cycle out of the battery.

My impatience controls me, so I'm resigned to just spending a little more on batteries over time 😉

Does anyone know what the max charge rate DJI will allow an Air 3S battery in the charging hub?
A DJI Air 3(S) batterie will never draw more than 100W when charged in the Batterie Hub, and never more than 65W when charged in the drone, regardless the output power capability of the charger.

Do we need "100 watt" cables to be compatible with 100 watt chargers?

thx

To be safe, yes. While the standard includes active cables reporting their spec to chargers and loads and therefore limiting delivered power, compliance with this is very sketchy out there in the wild.

There are plenty of cheap cables that'll carry 100W, and will get warm, even hot because they're really not rated for that much current.
