1080p 60fps, crop solution?

I know the issues with 60+fps, and saw the pdf DJI released about it, but is it possible for them to just crop the 4k sensor to 1080p to give us higher frame rates? I think a lot of other cameras do this. I know it is not ideal, but should at least give us usable 1080p60, even if it is not the full field of view. Thoughts?

That would be a uselessly small FOV.

I tried doing that using the digital zoom, but it didn't fix the issue

It would be way better than the garbage that it puts out now! But seriously, it is a drone way up in the sky that can maneuver with ease so it doesn't really matter that much does it? Just get closer to the subject if needed.

I don't think there is anything we can do to fix it, it would most definitely have to be a software/firmware update.
