Hi,

Can someone please help me and tell me of this is a normal behavior.
My first Air2 crashed as a result of the same cause and now my second Air 2.

I noticed a bit of a drift recently, so I calibrated everything on the drone, IMU, Compass and Gimbal.

When I fly out of my garden with all satellites available the drone still drifts to the point im afraid it will crash into a wall. ( does interference causes that?)
But even in attitude mode the drone should be perfectly flyable, like indoors for example as I dont it before.

So today, after 15m flight I came in to land in my garden. Drone was settling perfectly then just at about 1m height it started this left drift. I could see it heading for the wall, so I applied opposite control to avoid hitting the wall, but drone completely ignored my command and just kept flying sideways impacting the wall. minimal damaged, thankfully due to the low height, just one of the props got damaged.

This behavior certainly doesnt give me any confidence to fly in urban areas, or never mind close to any obstacles.

can some please share their experience and tell me if this is a common stuff that happens. Been flying drones for the last 10yr and never had as much bother as I have with Air 2 series. My old Phanton 4 and Mavic Platinum never exhibited such abnormal behaviors.

You need to post your flight log. Several people here can interpret them and very likely tell you what caused the erratic behaviour.
Without your flight log it will only be guessing.

For future reference: There is rarely (if ever) a reason to recalibrate these items.

As stated above:
DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help

  • Post your flight data to get help
  • Go to DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help
  • Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet.
  • That will give you a detailed report on the flight data.
  • Come back and post a link to the report it provides.
You are also welcome to just post the txt file here.

Most weird flight characteristics are fixed with IMU calibration, since you tried that your best bet is follow the instructions above asap. Only takes a few minutes.

So far you've given no information that would help to identify the issue.
Your title suggests the drone flew away.
Your incident description says it drifted.
But there are no details.
Did it wander 6 inches or drift to the next county?
I could see it heading for the wall, so I applied opposite control to avoid hitting the wall, but drone completely ignored my command and just kept flying sideways impacting the wall.
Failing to respond to control inputs is something different again.

The recorded flight data is needed for anyone to be able to see what actually happened and perhaps work out the cause.
To post your flight data there are a couple of options ...

1. Go to DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help
Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet.
That will give you a detailed report on the flight data.
Come back and post a link to the report it provides and someone might be able to analyse it and give you an understanding of the cause of the incident.
or
2. Just post the .txt file here
or
3. If you use Airdata, you can view the flight data on Airdata and post a link for the Airdata report

If you are using one of the controllers with an integrated screen, the txt files are to be found here:
Android\data\dji.go.v5\files\FlightRecord
