Hi guys,

Hope all are well. How do I get 30fps in 4k? I only have the option to select 24fps.

Many thanks

I see. Are there advantages to using 30fps instead of 24fps?

Yep - it's a little smoother looking that 24 fps. Some people like to achieve a more cinematic look - flickery and burry haha. I like higher framerates with sharper images.

I love the look of the higher frame rates. Play with some 60fps too at lower rez.

Thanks I will have a look at lower res but higher FPS. I ordered some polarpro cinematic 6 series nd filters but haven't had a chance to use them yet. Will maybe have a go tomorrow.

30 fps is the standard frame rate for broadcast television (NTSC) in the U.S. (and Canada, Japan and a few other countries). 24 fps is what was used for movie theaters. (25 fps is standard for the PAL format used in much of the rest of the world.)

Might as well shoot in the frame rate that's native for where you live, unless you want a higher frame rate for slow motion or whatnot.

You need a balance that factors in motion blur. High frame rates are sharp, but the shutter speeds are so high they also produce a jittery, artificial look because there is no motion blur. That's the point of ND filters --- to get shutter speeds down lower to allow for some natural motion blur.

Hi guys,

Is 30fps available in 4096 x 2160 because I am not seeing it. I'm only getting 24fps. And I am on NTSC

what firmware version is your mavic? Hmm it's never happens to me since i bought it.

3840 × 2160 can be 24 or 30 fps - this is commonly called 4K even though it is slightly less than 4K
4096 x 2160 is only 24 fps

I see. But Iv seen someone say that they r able to record 30fps in 4096x2160 so im confusee

Can we confirm that 30fps is NOT available on 4096x2160? Or am i the only one

Higher frame rates are always better. Makes everything move smoother and more realistic looking.

No, higher frame rates are not always better. Each has a purpose, and higher frame rates can bring higher shutter speeds that cause an artificial, digital look.

I still haven't had my answer to whether 30fps is available in 4096x2160 :(

I don't know I just want to know whether I can use 30fps at that 4096x2160

No you can not. 30fps only at 3840x2160. It's in the manual and there is no way (at least for now) to get higher than 24fps framerate at 4096.
