I want to give a very heartfelt shoutout and thank you to @Vic Moss for his assistance and guidance on a situation I had to deal with as a drone service provider. While capturing aerial footage of a construction site, I ran into the unfortunate personality of a hot headed construction supervisor who took offense to photography of "his" site. He damaged my drone and ultimately was arrested and cited.

Vic was kind enough to lend his support and crafted a informative message to the police department that was shared with the prosecutors office. The net result was the suspect was finally arraigned this week and ended up pleading guilty for the criminal damage. In addition to the fines and probation, he had to agree to pay restitution for my repairs. Not what any of us wants to deal with when doing commercial drone work, but it did have a acceptable outcome.

The kind of industry champion and leader Vic is should not be taken for granted. Thank you Mr. Moss!

Thanks for sharing!

Was trying to keep Vic’s fantastic help a secret so he wouldn’t get inundated (with praise) but he helped me greatly when I was trying to sort out my RID for when I fly my A2 in the States last year. Glad he has helped you and he deserves all the plaudits he gets.

It's kind of weird to see my name in the daily topic summary from this group. 🤔

But thanks for the shoutout Tony, and I'm glad it went well for you. Definitely sucks it happened, but glad my suggestions helped out in the end.

Everyone have a great weekend and fly safe!

Thank you for sharing, and bless you Mr. Moss.
These actions from the construction guy sound pretty extreme. Another reminder for the community to stay prepared for the unexpected.
Agreed @CrystKen. The construction guy was a hothead and everyone from the responding officers to the prosecutor all commented he wanted to argue about everything. Between my dashcam audio which captured the audio of the scuffle, and other footage of him throwing rocks at the drone (did not realize at the time, only later upon reviewing deliverables) his intent was clear and made his guilt indisputable. Anyways, I am happy to have it settled and behind me. I does not detract from the joy of drone operations, photography, and videography.
