It was abandoned due to flooding after hurricane Katrina I'm 2005.

I'm surprised the park is still there. The video that 98 Snake Eater found and posted indicated at the end that it was supposedly being torn down and sold for scrap in 2011. Obviously someone missed the memo on that.
