Hi guys
A question if I can, just bought a Mavic pro 2 for xmas, a thought on return to home, lets say you set it to 50m, stand and take off from a hill that's 100m high, fly to the bottom of the hill at sea level at 0 metres, low on battery or signal and press rth, now will the mavic automatically climb to 50m from sea level and in effect crash into the hill or would it climb to 150 m (50m above its take off altitude?) does obstacle avoidance work on rth? Thanks in advance, havnt flown yet so any tips welcome!!

I Live on a Mountain, and regularly fly into the LowLand Valley below.
My altitude reads -75m (say) while in the valley...

On the rare occasions that Iv NOT flown home manually, and rather pressed RTH (or lost connection - in a Bad Area), the drone climbs to 30 m above my takeoff position - and descends above me to zero m (takeoff)

… but I would test this again and again - You mentioned active track...
So Lets say … you decided to have the drone track you while going on a run down the mountain - … then it kinda runs outta Gas, and returns to home... - It would be cool to have a drone waiting for you there - when u return.

TEST: TakeOff on the Mountain - Try decending … to -30 (minus) but withing 200 m of yr takeoff point - then Hit return to home - and watch the Altitude on yr Phone You want it to ascend past zero and climb to say yr RTH altitude (30m say) - You can always Cancel - if its not good-
- BUT I think its good !

IMPORTANT NOTE ! - There is the following Important notes - on the different RTH methods.
The Failsafe one - automatically retraces steps (if signal is lost) see pg 18 of the Latest USER Manual. (Mavic 2)

Then the Other rules apply Based on Distance etc >20m or Less than 20m (See same Page)
