Something happened to my Air 2S and I am told by the repair center I sent it to that it will cost $385 to repair. I was told the Mavic Air 2S has a defective coreboard along with a few sensor issues. The coreboard will be replaced and the drone will be rebuilt to ensure all sensors are firing properly. The drone will then need to be recalibrated along with updating the firmware/software and flight tested before shipping back. I am undecided about the best route to take. I could cut my losses and buy a new 3S and sell the batteries and accessories on Ebay. I could pay for the repair and sell it on Ebay where prices range roughly $500-$700 and buy a new drone or have it repaired and just use the 2S which is now 3.5yrs old. Tough decision, what do you guys think?

Any pictures of the damage?
The 2S is a good unit. The 3S so far, is also good.

If sent to DJI repair you would receive a new/refurbished Air 2s for the repair price. DJI would not actually do a repair.

The 2S was out of warrantee so I sent to an independent drone repair shop here in New Jersey. There was no physical damage to the drone, it just stopped connecting to DJI Fly. I happened right after returning from a trip. The drone was never dropped or crashed.

I would get it fixed and use it for a backup.....The Air 2S is a TANK!

The air 2s is my favorite drone. Always gets the job done. I have 2. I never look at new equipment until I feel I can't get the job done with the gear I have.

Mine did that and it turned out that all I needed to do was uninstall and reinstall the DJI Fly App

Definitely a cheaper route.

Agreed. I sent it to DJI for repair and they sent it back saying that there is nothing wrong with the drone. I chated with a rep via the website and he suggested the removal of the app - bingo! That solved the issue.

I hope that the repair shop the OP sent his drone to isn't trying to rip him off.
