After firmare update, the controller isn't linked to drone - anybody have an answer?

I linked the controller and the drone for firmware updates and they don't seemed to be paired anymore. I can get my cell phone to link with it but I haven't even been able to get the props to start.

Mavic Pro? Check the little switch by the memory card slot.

Also make sure you are signed in to dji account

It's the Mavic Air. I turn it on and both front lights are red and the rear light is red as well.

I always have to insert the otg cable from my phone to the controller to connect.

I had tried that and the props still wouldn't start up. I figured the problem though this evening. I was getting a red area in the top section of the camera view and a message would flash up and disappear saying that it needed to be calibrated again. I did that and I got the props to start (first time) and it allowed me to fly it with my phone. I then pushed the function button in the back for 3 seconds until it made a noise and I synced. The controller worked after that. I kept thinking with my luck, I'd have to send it back or something. Thanks everybody who responded for the advice.
