I see recently that Air 3 got updated to go up to 1000M. Wondering if there is any word about them updating the air 2s?

Unfortunately no new updates will come to the Air 2s ever again, it's too old now and they want you to buy a newer model.

You could modify it yourself, try drone-hacks or similar.
