I’ve had my Air 2S for about 9 months and back in November I started to see an error message intermittently during flight: “Motor Error: Check propellers.” I had flown my Air 2S many times and thought maybe the props simply wore out as had never crashed my drone. I landed, changed the props, and the message did not reappear. Stupidly, I threw away the “old” props thinking they had been the problem. A flight or two later the same message appeared. I sent the drone to DJI and they said it was an ESC problem, which they fixed for free. Upon further inspection, they just sent me a new drone. Unfortunately, the new drone has started showing the same error less than two flights in. The error will show up, but then disappear and may not show up for the next several flights. I have seen videos online linking it to certain modes, such as Mastershots or hyper lapse. I cannot see any patterns. All firmware is updated before each flight. Any ideas or similar experiences?

Thank you

I am a ROOKIE drone rebuilder I also own an Air2s. I have never seen this error, I would assume a bad ESC but when you see this error are you using the SAME battery. Perhaps you have a battery that is bad I have seen some pretty strange errors pop up from ready to die Batteries.
Having said that, I say send it back again for replacement

It almost sounds like they sent you the same drone back, and not a new one.
Did you check to see if the one of the Tabs on the Props is cracked, loose or stuck inside the motor well.

A blocked motor is normally the cause of such error.

Different drone with different serial number.

DJI also told me it was an ESC error, but then sent me a different drone. The battery idea is interesting. I cycle all my batteries but will start documenting which battery the error happens on and if it’s more than one battery.

I've seen that message a couple of times back in the past, but it seems to have been a false alarm.
Haven't seen it in the last three years and a few thousand kilometres more on that aircraft..

I was thinking the same thing until it refused to do a pano or Mastershots each time the error would pop up. You’re right though, it doesn’t fly oddly, makes no strange sounds, nothing.

Did you try a different Controller ? I have seen some strange things pop up over the years sometime in a different lang even. you might give that a shot. When you return the drone with an ESC error , they normally will replace the Main Board as well an that is why you will get another drone from them and not the same one fixed.

Nope. I’m just a normal guy. I don’t have shelves of alternative controllers lying around. One drone, one controller.

I flew another batter-worth today and no errors.
