As we progress into February and for those of us who haven't been able to get out and fly it's time to dust off the bird and take a look see around the bird in readiness for the flying season.
1) Take props off (if they aren't already off) and check leading/trailing edge and tips for any dings, replace as necessary
2) Check prop lock area and base of actual propeller to see if there is any wear/marks and replace props as necessary
3) Look at the base of the motor checking for any "free play" and check security of all fasteners (I replace props and hold base of motor and prop to check free play)
4) Check for cracks around the base of the motor.
5) Check electrical leads/connections around the unit
6) Check gimbal, camera and lens
7) Check the fuselage of the bird and note any marks/lines/cracks.
8) Check battery slot area and clean contacts where battery mates (clean battery contacts too)
9) Check battery locks and condition of battery
10) Check transmitter/bird and update firmware at your peril (joking)
Safe flying.
