I am a professional real estate photographer and was booked on a shoot that requested several drone shots. After checking the address I discovered the residence is located 1 mile from a local/regional airport. When I checked my Aloft App this location indicated it is in Class D airspace and I am not allowed to fly there... since it is directly in line with a runway, clearance to fly is at 0'. I then discovered the Agent who booked the photo session only needs one drone shot, and only to get a good shot of the front of the house because it is up on a hill from the street. In other words, to get a good level shot of the front of the house I would need to fly up about 15 feet at the most, not even close to getting above the trees, much less the house. Just a good, straight-on shot at house level. Is this use of the drone considered ok under these circumstances? I could see the argument going towards no because in case of a flyaway (God forbid) there poses the potential hazard to aircraft. Zero feet flight clearance means zero for a reason, no exceptions... or am I wrong on this? I always appreciate the input offered here and look forward to hearing the pros and cons of this kind of situation.

YEP NO means NO. Don't try it. The airport cannot see your remote I.D. Period, BUT if you get caught you will not be able to afford the consequences!!! Use a scissor lift or something like that.

I don't have a part 107 so feel free to completely ignore my comment which follows:

It's not necessarily a no fly zone if it not in the red zone. Washington DC is a no fly zone. It's restricted or controlled airspace and it's a 0 grid and according to LAANC for some zero grids, the maximum auto approval available to you is up to a height of 0 AGL which means you cannot lift off. However, depending on your airport and the location, it also says "further coordination available up to 400feet." As far as I know, there is no further coordination available to recreational pilot but part 107 may be able to apply for a waiver to fly there.

I live in Class D airspace so I need to get LAANC in order to fly in controlled airspace. This is up until 9pm local time and then the entire area becomes Class G, apparently because the airport tower has limit hours of operation. You are good to go in G without LAANC in uncontrolled airspace. In fact, AirControl will not permit a LAANC request to go thru after hours.

Just to add,

We recently had an exercise at a Class C airport.
During our preplan days before we fired up our drone in a hangar to test our live streaming out.
An airport rep was with us and on the phone with their counter drone rep. We had our own counter drone hardware up and running that can see any drone broadcasting Remote ID.

The moment our drone was turned on the airport counter drone rep stated it was a Matrice 300 RTK.
Our Remote ID scanner showed nothing since the motors were not spinning and therefore the drone was not yet transmitting Remote ID.

My point, you do not know who is watching and further what action they may or may not take.
Our state police have several counter drone assets up and running at any given time. They also record constantly.

Go to FAA Drone Zone, apply for an Air Space Authorization. It is pretty straightforward, and I assume you have a valid Part 107.
