For lack of a better term... I’m simply trying to fly a driveway at a constant altitude of 8 feet with my Mavic 2 Pro. Like riding in a car... but as the driveway rises the Mavic doesn’t hug the terrain... is there a setting? A flight mode?

Try Terrain Follow. It works on uphill if working properly. Not good on downhill. Any reason you cant do it manually?

It’s a really steep driveway with a curve, so I was just trying to take one of the stick movements out of the equation so that I, in this case, could concentrate on the tree lined curve. How do I GET to terrain follow in the GO app. Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve got 3 hours to work this out...

Sorry, I just turned on my M2Z to check for you but that auto flight mode does not exist for the mavic. It is available on the Phantom.

Yup. That’s where I’d seen it. I was going to get a Phantom 4 v2 for a spare. I wonder if it’s there?
I have it on the P4P obsidian. No reason not to have it on the P4P V2. The altitude hold is also known as GPS hold. Have you tried active track for what you are trying to do? I have seen video of it following a mountain bike uphill. It started from downhill so it automatically adjusted altitude. Search active track 2.0 on youtube if you want to know more. Sorry, I dont have hyperlink to the video.

Active track might track you, but it's not going to trace your path. That's why so many crashes result from it. You would also have to be the subject of the video by design. You might want to try something like Litchi, to pre-program all of your flight at whatever altitude, gimbal pitch, yaw, and speed that you want. Eight feet is too low, though. There's little room for error at that height.

Eventually the M2 will start following the terrain rather than crash into the rising ground.
At least that's my experience flying a few feet above ground and flying along my front yard grass that gently rises a few feet as it reaches the street.
