No fly over people and cars, right?

So many aircraft are crashing down into neighborhoods these days.

Actually, it's "continous flight over people or moving vehicles" you can legally transverse over moving traffic and people to get from point A to point B

Being an old cynic i wonder if this could be a publicity stunt by amazon to stop those who are against deliveries by drone from using drone safety as a weapon against the company?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but as I read your comment, I would have to say No way! That would be devastating to themselves.

As i said i am an old cynic, this probable wasn't planned but it wont have done them any harm either -

The drone landed safely and they went on to explain it has built in technology to make sure if it detects a problem it will automatically pick a safe place and land, they are saying all the right things at a time when this method of local delivery is likely to take off.
(sorry couldn't resist).

They called it a “Crash landing”?! 🤣 It looked pretty well done to me, and they even deliver packages just like the delivery people do - With a “Yeet!” of more than 5-feet from where they are standing!

"OH Hi Amazon recovery team!....Your Drone crash landed in my yard?.. No Problem you'll just need to pay a "small" key rental fee, and there will also be a mushed grass fee if you need to step on the lawn." Go right ahead.
P.S. Instead of taking pictures I would have climbed under it and waited for my att...I mean the authorities!
