Hi

Recently visited a little known, but highest waterwall in Chile, Salto de Itata. This is out in the middle of forrestry lands and involves wending your way down country backroads. The waterfall has nothing but a wooden interpretive centre nearby. Other than that it is forrestry "wilderness". I took out my tempremental Mavic Air. It, as always, requested compass calibration. And then failed miserably to calibrate. I took out my trusty magnetometer to measure background levels. The reading should be around 23. Near a car it reads 45-50. Here it read 350+ It was off the charts. I tried another app. Same thing. Off the charts background magnetic radiation. Weird.

When talking to the park minder she mentioned the new hydroelectric plant. Where? I asked. Here. Underground. The entire hydroelectric plant was underground and out of site. On close inspection you could just make out the water diversión gates upstream.

Stunning.
