Just joined up in the hope of getting answers to what may seem like silly questions.
After succeeding in crashing cheap helicopters and a $100 drone I decided that I wanted a 4K drone to compliment my video camera so after a lot of research settled on the Mavic Pro.
What a dream to fly, no drifting off of its own accord into trees or power lines, easy as to land but not quite game to fly over water yet.
The gimbal made my head spin so have slowed that down as well as the yaw and don't get airsick when watching replay but still a way to go sorting out camera settings.
Hopefully I can get some answers here and offer solutions if I find any.
At the moment waiting for the wind to drop and weather to warm up a bit so I can do some coastal shots.

Howdy from Wyoming Bunyip. Welcome to the community, plenty of fine folk and excellent information here.

Hi Bunyip,
Welcome from Cairns Queensland. Where abouts are you located?
I am still looking for prime locations to get some nice aerial footage around my area. With so many flight restrictions it is making it difficult.
Take your time and stay away from trees.... my only tip.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forum.
Adelaide here but fly a bit around the country when travelling.
I’m too waiting for the blessed weather to quieten down, always seems to be either drizzling rain or the bigger problem lately just too windy.
Enjoy mavicpilots it’s a great place to learn more.

We live just outside Lang Lang which is in West Gippsland Victoria about 80km SE of Melbourne, on Westernport Bay and not far from Bass Strait where I want to get some aerial footage of the estuaries and cliffs.
Will watch Adelaide's weather with interest as it is generally a 48 hour indicator to what we are going to get.
Would like to get up to Lightning Ridge for some shots when I get time as it is an interesting landscape, I have been up there but not for a while.
Regretably I go back to work next week which indicates that the weather will improve.
