Any info if the RC Pro will work with the Mini 3 Pro?

Was wondering if anyone had any info on whether the RC Pro will be compatible with the soon to be released Mini 3 Pro? Fingers crossed it will but with DJI ya never know.. Anyone have any knowledge on this? Thanks!

I have no info either way, but I would guess no since they want to sell the RC package with the Mini 3 Pro.

Hope that's not the case! I don't need essentially two "Pro" screened remotes. The RC Pro was costly enough. Guess time and speculation will tell.

You know DJI, just like Apple, they want to sell you the next new thing and aren't that concerned about the old stuff....

People said this about the old controller not supporting air 2 or something really obtuse.

My guess is will support them obviously; the fact that a lower spec controller because available does not take away from the fact that pilots ready could own a pro controller.
The fact that it comes with the basic old remote is an indication.

I'm sure it will, but DJI rarely has the compatibility ready on day 1, it tends to take many months before a firmware updates enables it.

I have an air 2 with the standard remote,it would be nice if this worked with the mini 3 pro.
That would make it almost too easy.I suppose my remote having occus.2,and the standard
remote that will be with the new mini may have a higher power rating because of being occus.3.
This would not work.Interesting times ahead.

You do not need another remote if you have the standard remote. The RC Pro is unknown, and to DJI's pattern, likely won't work at release date but hopefully will not too long after.

That looks like a Fly App update (on the RC Pro) not a RC Pro firmware update. Don't think that tells us for sure if it is compatible or if it needs a controller firmware update as well. We should know tomorrow as people get their hands on them.

The Smart Controller and RC Pro have always had firmware releases to work with new drones even if the hardware didn't change (obviously the hardware didn't change).

Firmware updates also contain core app updates at the same time on the smart controllers.
A few releases those were the *only* things.
O3 and O3 so all thats needed is the new SDK with the parameters of the new drone for the Fly app to hook into.

The app has never been the driver of connectivity between those controllers and the drones. Maybe it will be this time. You can see that with the Air 2S and Mavic 3 both on O3. The smart controller works with the 2S an not the 3 even with the regular current Android App. For a while there were 2 versions of the RC pro firmware one that worked with the Air 2S and a different version that worked with the Mavic 3 (same app). We waited for a new firmware that alllowed it to connect to both at the same time.

Likewise with the o2 drones. It was quite a while before the Smart Controller worked with the Mini 2 despite it working with the other 02 drones.


There is more to how DJI is connecting those controller to the birds than the App.
