Any new technology in the last year or so to track your downed drone?

I decided to stop driving the poor moderator crazy and start searching more before I post but can’t seem to find anything recent...
Has there been any new technology in tracking your downed drone?
I did see the trackamo link, i’ve seen this drone keep her thing and I have seen this new tile sport. I have also heard about some find my drone thing in the DJI GO 4 app.... so I’m wondering if anything has changed or if anybody has updated any equipment to be better than it was? Are all these trackers a waste of time now with this “find my drone” deal?

DJI home page shows you where your drone was last recorded, and YT videos show how to use it.

Wonderful, thank you !
And in your opinion does this render tile and drone keep her and those kind of things useless or obsolete? Definitely don’t want to spend anymore money if I don’t have to... my $400 budget somehow went up to $1300?!
Not sure how that happened but don’t tell the wife

This only records the last known location. If you lost connection with the drone, this wouldn't work. Trackimo is what you would need for those situations.

There are loads of tracking devices out there these days. I was actually doing a project to hopefully make 'the smallest tracker in the world' until I found this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075SVHF47

My best efforts couldn't design one this small and even 'at cost' my project was more expensive!

@tictag be interested to know if you went for this one? if so, whats your opinion? I was looking at the same one earlier in the week, but am always cautious about the wording on some of these sales pages. The plus side is no return hassles with Amazon.

I actually bought this to to have a peak at the technology used - I was just gobsmacked after spending hours/days designing mine that somebody could make one so very much smaller!

The module is solid inside, really well made. I haven't tested it out functionally at the moment because I don't have a spare SIM but plan to do so. I'll keep you posted.

My only concern was that I couldn't find a way to configure where the data gets sent - defaults to the manufacturer's servers, which I didn't like (paranoid about what people do with my location data) but maybe there is a way to configure.

For £25, so long as you're happy sending your data off to China, you just can't go wrong with this. It's even magnetic, has a neodymium magnet inside.

Hmmmm just done everything I can to make sure DJI dont get my data from the MP, so a bit unsure of jumping into the fire with another  Will be interested to hear how you go with it and whether you find a workaround for the receiving server.

I've looked at so many on Amazon, some very cleverly play on words.... One I just looked at stated GPS and GSM...... then the small print states GSM only.

Another made a big thing about its accuracy with GPS+ and GSM .... but then goes on to say only supports 2G and you need an annual subscription to their site to get the GPS tracking ....... very clever these chinese ;)
