Any rhyme or reason to Best Buy's in store pick up inventory patterns?

for some reason, the mavic pro will go from "available in 1 hour" for almost all stores around me in 75 mile direction to "available to pick up on xx" for every store in 75 mile radius, all in one day.

I've called two Best Buy's and they told me they have one in stock. I've seen this happen 3-4 times now over past month and a half.

Mavics are still in short supply in most Best Buy stores. People order them online fo in-store pickup and then the status goes from 1 hour to xx date.

You would have better luck ordering one online and having it delivered from BB when they pop up, most times for free, than for waiting for one to be available in a store. Guaranteed sale online delivery.
