Anyone else ever seen this AirMap conflict?

So when I fly I use either my Samsung S9 or my Asus tablet depending on what I'm doing, so I have AirMap installed on both devices. I recently noticed that the no fly zones at a local lake conflict from one device to another. The version on the tablet shows a second ring that doesn't show on the phone map. Both apps are up to date, so it's not that. The upper image is from my phone, the lower from the tablet.

Thoughts?

one appears to be zoomed out quite a bit. What happens when they are set at the same field of view?
Maybe there is a setting for what types of zones are displayed?

I have no idea what point you're trying to make here?

Good idea but I tried zooming in and even setting the view on the phone the exact same. For whatever reason I can't get that second circle to show up on the phone.

That is strange. You would think the app data is identical. Maybe its a screen resolution thing?

I'd also be aware of the Bald Eagle breeding area.... which seems to be that whole lake...

"Pilots are reminded to maintain the FAA-recommended 2,000-foot above ground level advisory when flying over bald eagle habitat. Drones and paragliders are asked to avoid the areas completely. "

Asked is a pretty broad term, but if you disturb an Eagle... "eagles are also protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act which, among restrictionsfor causing harm, also prohibits harassmentand disturbance
of bald and golden eagles.

It is called a NOTAM, I'm sure you check them before flying as all good pilots do

It is telling you about flight activity near the airport (P48) that he is asking about and it may explain the second circle

PS there is a Eagle breeding area inside that second circle, they ask you do not fly there

I guess I still don't understand why both devices don't show the same thing?

Yes thanks, I'm aware of the eagles. Years ago we used to come down from Table Mesa to the lake to fish before they closed it off.

LOL!, At least you now know someone studies maps and charts and different apps for an hour before he takes off the ground with his aircraft Just like a real life pilot! :D
They troll every thread looking for places to make posts like that.
Too bad they arent very good at answering very specific questions about why the exact same app on different devices has different data!

Lol yea so far I've not seen a NOTAM pop up in any of the areas I've flown in, and I didn't have one pop up in the area in question. As I recall all that popped was a heliport and a power plant.

I guess at the end of the day I'd just like to understand why the app isn't showing the same warnings on 2 apps.

I get it, How can you trust information from either device now? You might have to carry a breifcase full of sectionals and other maps like the 'super drone jockies" do.

Lmao! I think I'll just go with worst case and hope I'm safe. Since you're being straight with me (thank you!) do you think that when eagle closures are in effect AirMap would indicate this?

I have NO clue. I dont live in an area with a lot of controlled areas or flight restrictions. I am certainly not downloading apps to check for anything.
The important thing is to KNOW when and where you can fly safely, if there is any question DONT FLY there. I see from that small screen grab you posted that you are in an entirely different situation than me. I would have to zoom out 100 miles to see more than one circle on my map (if i had that app)

BTW the reason I check for NOTAMS, TFR's and other things before flying is because unlike most of you, I have a ton of time and money tied up in my Part 61, and the FAA takes great pleasure in revoking ALL licenses when an Airman flying a Drone screws up.

Actually, you needn't worry about jeopardizing your airman certificate because of a drone event.
The FAA doesn't consider the two the same.
Unlike risking an ATP certificate for something that happens while flying privately, the FAA won't touch your regular certificate for a drone thing.

Do you have a reference for that reassuring information? I've heard the opposite from more than one source.

The FAA does not publish a statement that they will not take certificate action against various infractions. Thus, there is no formal FAA announcement that you are immune.

The first clue is that the 107 certificate is not included in your regular certificate.
It is separate. That is not true for other certificates,
For instance, when I got a private, then commercial then ATP, then a number of type ratings, they simply reissued the certificate.
When I got the 107, they issued a completely different certificate.
They did not add the 107 to the ATP.

More to your question, I am am an airline guy, and the question comes up frequently, on various airline pilot message boards, because nobody is willing to risk their livelihood to some knucklehead accusation on a drone issue.
Many have talked to the FAA and many FSDO's, and the repeated response is that they don't care that much about drone stuff, and won't jeopardize a pilot certificate for a drone issue.

To my, and many other's knowledge, they have not, and that information is from very large airline pilot's unions message boards.
