Anyone notice gps or home point "drifting"?

Ive noticed when taking off since the update and hovering, my distance to home point starts slowly climbing to as much as 10-12' though the drone is only hovering and hasn't moved. It will drift back down to near zero and back up again to 10-12'. No less than 12 satellites. Never had this problem before. Its like gps thinks the drone is slowly drifting but it isnt. RTH is sketchy as it tends to be off about that much in any direction when it centers on the HP and starts coming down. I have been manually making corrections upon landing. Just curious if im the only one.
 
It depends on your gps sats locked when you initially took off and keep in mind GPS accuracy is only good for 4-6m. The more gps sats locked, the better accuracy you will get.
Seems normal to me. Typically it's a good idea to take off from a surface where this is some sort of recognizable pattern (i usually take off on a + crack in my driveway), this way the downward vision sensor can hone in on that during it's precision landing on RTH as it gets closer to the ground. That's why take-off pads with an "H" are popular as well.

Next time you RTH, point your gimbal downward and you'll usually see the drone swaying a bit and then it will lock on to it's target.

MA2 uses a barometer rather than GPS for elevation above the home point when out of the range of VPS. The barometer has its own variability, and it's calibration isn't dependent upon a home point lock, so it is possible to have a precise home point lock, but still have an insufficient barometer reading.

Yes but the OP didn’t suggest any issue with height issues. His post is about RTH accuracy.

It's common for the drone to record a home point early and update shortly after if it gets better GPS reception.
GPS is not pinpoint accurate and the inaccuracy can be as much as 10 feet, but is usually 6 ft or less.
Unless you enable the Precision Landing feature, your RTH autoland will reflect the variable inaccuracy mentioned above.
Your recorded flight data would show if your drone updated the home point after launching.

It appears I may have misunderstood his inartful description of the problem as "climbing" which I took to mean rising in height, rather than a lateral measurement change.

Your recorded flight data would show if your drone updated the home point after launching.
by “enable” I take it you mean take-off vertically to approx 7m, wait for the “your home point has been recorded....” prompt, then carry on? I’m not aware of a selection in the app that “enables” Precision landing.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant drones gps drifting laterally. Drone is rock steady in place but my distance to HP gradually ticks up to as high as 10-12'. It also continues to do this after landing.

I was just curious if anyone else was having the same issue. Ive been manually landing when it gets close. I can post some tomorrow but you don't have to waste your time. Its manageable, just not desirable lol. Appreciate it.
