I usually back-up files on my phone by backing up the entire phone. Is there any reason to believe that wouldn't capture the log files?
In terms of video files, I have large SD cards in the drones (256GB), and I just let the files accumulate there. Once a month, I take out all of the SD cards and copy them to my PC.
I usually review vids on the phone shortly after I shoot them. If there's one that I like, I make the cache file on the phone a regular (immortal) file. If there's one I *really* like, then I go back to the SD card and extract that one to the PC immediately.
I've never used the cable transfer method. I don't quite see why that might be valuable.
