We caught a PBS special this morning on the MOSAIC expedition of 2019-2020, which established a major scientific base camp on an ice floe in the Arctic Ocean. They stayed for the entire winter, drifting with the ice across the top of the world. What made it even more interesting was the expedition's photographers' and scientists' use of several different types of drones for documentation and research. They were apparently flying quadcopter drones at -20c/-4f in the dead of winter. The photography was spectacular and the drone footage contributed greatly to the film. You'll have to dig to find some photos of the drones; try entering "mosaic expedition drone images" in a google/bing image search.
