Are my children 13 and 15 allowed to fly my DJI mini 4 pro (I have operator ID)

Hi Guys,

I can see on page 4 of the Drone Code
https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/the_drone_code.pdf
that to fly my DJI Mini 4 Pro I only need Operator ID (and not Flyer ID).

Could you help me understand if my children 13 and 15 can fly this drone with me without additinoal requirements, please?

Young people aged 13 to 17​

Getting a flyer ID​

Young people aged 13 to 17 must have a flyer ID.
They can take the test and get a flyer ID on their own.

Operator ID​

They cannot register for an operator ID until they’re 18. If your child owns a drone or model aircraft that requires an operator ID, this means you must get an operator ID.

It assumes that the drone or model aircraft being used by the child requires a flyer ID and operator ID

and in a case of sub 250g it does not. As only Operator ID is required.

@thisisjimmi i think you will find that in order for a person under the age of 18 to be able to fly a Drone of any weight equiped with a camera in the UK that they will have to have a flyer ID, and when the flight is taking place a person over the age of 18 who has a operator ID, must be present
