Today I was filming at the Lake Wörth (Wörthersee). It's the largest lake in Carinthia. The east end is only a few driving minutes from home. It is also widely known for the cities Velden, Reifnitz and Pörtschach.

While filming at the Pyramidenkogel (the tower) a police helicopter came by. From my point of view he came directly behind the tower. The drone was in VLOS and I obeyed all other rules. As soon as I recognized him, I flew the drone more close to the tower and immediately started reducing height. The helicopter also flew very near to the tower and that was a pretty close call. I estimate, that the drone was about 50m* under the helicopter at the point he flew over the drone. Luckily except my heart racing nothing happened. If I would have watched the display I would have seen the helicopter earlier.
*) The tower is 100m tall, I was reaching the top of the trees and the helicopter was about the same height as the viewing platform.
