Has anyone joined the ASA to fly their drones? I have really thought about joining them, so I have a place to fly my drones. I remember reading somewhere that they offer insurance for your drones as long as it is for recreational as well. This is not that much to join the organization so this looks like a great deal. What are your thoughts?

AMA is a great organization. Yes, they provide insurance but I still maintain a separate liability policy to cover my Part 107 flying.

The AMA is a good organization. They do not provide places to fly. Local R/C clubs who are chartered by the AMA typically have flying fields. If you join the club (dues vary widely), and you follow the AMA and club safety codes and rules, you can fly there.
AMA insurance is secondary to your homeowners or any personal liability insurance you have. If you have none, then AMA becomes primary. Any commercial use of the drone and AMA does not cover you.
