My aircraft icon doesn't always show correct direction my drone is flying. I can't find any information on certain aspects of the Indicator, such as what is the "Lock" icon used for? Should I always take off with the drone pointing away from me to line up the white triangle....etc... Does anyone have any detailed information on the Indicator/Map?

Iv'e calibrated the compass, and made sure there was no interference at different locations. i was wondering if I might have hit the lock or some combination by mistake that may have changed some setting? I found absolutely nothing in the manual or on YouTube.

Any info would be appreciated.

Your bird is the red triangle in the centre and the direction of the triangle should be always be matching the direction that your drone is pointing

Yes I understand that, but when I toggle through the modes, it is not always pointing the same direction. Do you know what the lock is when in Map Mode?

The issue is your compass on your phone is not calibrated correctly. Rotate your phone and controller in all 3 axis and you will find that the position of the aircraft is then correct. I have to do this almost every time I connect my phone to controller.

The User Manual is finally out https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Mavic_2/20180827/Mavic 2 Pro Zoom User Manual_v1.0.pdf

Most of what you need is here. The lock you write about might be the Auto Exposure lock. If locked, it maintains your current auto-exposure setting, no matter where you fly ... in and out of heavy shadows, etc. It's a great tool if you want that.

Interesting comment, I was thinking about that same thing. Every time I look at the compass on my phone it is out of whack. I know you have to do some "figure 8 s" with it to calibrate, but I can't tell if it stuck after starting the GO 4 app. I'm due for a phone upgrade to a GS 9 and hoping it's better than my GS 7.

The lock I'm referring to is on the map mode of the Attitude gauge. I have an MP Pro and have the manual, I can't find a reference to the lock at all.

The lock mode on the maps lock the map orientation to Nord on top (if locked) or it will let it to rotate and keep on top the direction you are facing

Hope it helps

To get a good compass indication try starting the app first, enter camera mode, verify North in the Attitude indicator then turn on controller and finally Mavic. Works for me. It lets the phones built-in compass get an accurate lock without the influence of the magnetic control sticks.

I'm going to give this a try. Every now and then when I start to fly, my needle does not point in the direction of the Mavic. About 5 minutes into the flight my needle is pointing in the correct position.
